The Coast to Coast was devised by Alfred Wainwright in 1973 and remains his most popular long distance walk.  The route starts in St. Bees in Cumbria, where it is traditional to pick up a small pebble to carry on your journey.  After crossing three national parks and the width of England, the route ends in Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire, time to throw your pebble into sea and reflect on this epic acheivement.
